Yudof Responds to the UCLA FA  Letter

June 30, 2009, with the reminder:

“We appreciate your sharing your views, and we welcome

having them, but we do wish to remind you of Bylaw 16.9 of

the University, which states that communications from

members of the faculty to the Board of Regents must be

    presented through the President.”

The FA at UCLA would like to direct President Yudof’s attention to

the History of the Faculty Association at UCLA to see that it is an independent association of faculty on this campus since the early

1970s. It is entirely dues supported. As an independent association of academic Senate members, the FA has the right to engage in advocacy on the part of the faculty interests before the UCLA campus administration, the UC central administration, and the state legislature.
